West Indies’ explosive batsman Chris Gayle trains ahead of the three-match Twenty20 series












































West Indies head coach Ottis Gibson is confident his side can come away with a valuable series against England in the build-up to the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later this month.



The West Indies face England in the first Twenty20 International of their three-match series on Sunday, reports CMC.



The hosts conceded the preceding three-match one-day series in Antigua by a 2-1 margin, but as World champions in the game’s shortest format believe they have a good shot at trouncing the English.



“I think we’ve got a great chance. We’re using these games as preparation for the World Cup so you may see different players over the course of the three games. We may look at a few players building up towards Bangladesh and retaining our title,” Gibson said here Saturday.

ICC World T20 2014 Points Table and Team Standings

The ICC World T20 2014 will be held in Bangladesh from March 16 to April 6. This is the fifth edition of the T20 World Cup . A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament. The qualifying phase will have a total of eight teams vying for two spots in the Super 10s. There will be two groups with four teams each for qualifying games in the T20 World Cup.

A gala dinner will be hosted in the UAE ahead of the seventh season of the Indian Premiere League (IPL), instead of the usual opening ceremony. Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Deepika Padukone are set to perform at the event . Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, who is the son of the Sheikh of Abu Dhabi, will host the gala dinner on 15 April at the Emirates Palace and it will be attended by Bollywood celebrities and several other VIP guests, according to Emirates 24/7. SRK, co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise, will host the evening. Khan is busy with the shoot of his upcoming films but will take time out to attend the gala dinner and watch the first 2014 IPL match between Mumbai Indians and KKR. The highlight of the gala dinner will be SRK, Nene and Padukone's performances.
