Over the years, all-rounders, Ravindra Jadeja and Shahid Afridi have been mocked and jeered for various reasons. With Jadeja, it was perceived that he wasn’t good enough to play at the top echelons of the game. On the other end of the spectrum, Afridi has been ridiculed for his maverick ways and him ‘not ageing beyond 18’. However, both have that supreme ability to turn the tables and change the course of the game within no time and have that perseverance to wade through hurdles. As India take on Pakistan in Asia Cup 2014 in a titanic battle, the contest between Jadeja and Afridi will add to it as an intriguing sub plot.

The ICC World T20 2014 will be held in Bangladesh from March 16 to April 6. This is the fifth edition of the T20 World Cup . A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament. The qualifying phase will have a total of eight teams vying for two spots in the Super 10s. There will be two groups with four teams each for qualifying games in the T20 World Cup. Bangladesh , Afghanistan , Nepal and Hong Kong are in Group A. Ireland, UAE, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands are the teams in Group B. Only one team will qualify into the next round. The qualifying matches finish on March 21. The Super 10s also start on the same day. South Africa, Sri Lanka, England and New Zealand are in Group 1. India, Australia , Pakistan and West Indies are in Group 2. Both the groups will have an additional qualifier to make it an overall Super 10. The semi-finals will be held on April 3 and April 4. Brian Lara dating With Jamey Bowers former Miss Scotland

West Indies cricket legend Brian Lara is reportedly dating former Miss Scotland Jamey Bowers . The batting great was introduced to Bowers, who is 20 years his junior, by former Manchester United and Trinidad and Tobago striker Dwight Yorke. “It’s early days. I didn’t want anyone to know, but Brian’s been declaring his love all over the place,” the Daily Mail quoted Bowers as saying in the Edinburgh News. “He’s charming, romantic and fun. We’ll see what happens.” Lara, 44, is considered one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He holds several cricketing records, including the highest individual score in First-Class cricket, with 501 not out for Warwickshire  against Durham at Edgbaston in 1994. Lara also has the record for the highest individual score in Tests, scoring 400 not out against England at Antigua in 2004.

Danish Kaneria is a bowler who conjures up images of a leg-spinner with a frog-like action in most Pakistani fans’ minds; sadly, he has now faded into obscurity thanks to his involvement in the infamous 2009 spot-fixing scandal in English County cricket. The man who once was hailed as one of the most promising players to have emerged from the Pakistani cricket stables now sadly is fighting a losing cause in order to acquit himself of the charges leveled against him by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) five years back and the life-ban imposed on him has already stalled a career which once upon a time looked rosy and promising.
